Biography

After Li
Qian graduated from the Beijing Dance Institute in 1991, he had several
opportunities to learn international ballroom dancing from some world famous
instructors. Li Qian was deeply inspired by this energetic and expressive
art. He became an instructor of both Chinese classical dancing and
international ballroom dancing in the Beijing Dance Institute. Li Qian has
won many first place prizes in dance competition in China, such as the
Chinese National Ballroom Dancing Competition, Beijing TV Dance Competition,
etc. After he came to the United States in 1995, Li Qian has had some more
opportunities to learn and work with many acclaimed dancers. He and his
students have since received many more prizes internationally in various
competitions, including the Grand Ballroom, Galaxy, Snow Ball Classic,
Mistletoe Classic Competition, and others. Li Qian is an instructor and the
artistic director of Pacific Dance Academy.
Ma Rui
had been a principle dancer for the Central nationality Dance Troupe for ten
years before she graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy in 1993. She then
served as an instructor there until 1995. Ma Rui was honored as a First Rank
Dancer for the China Central National Dance Troupe. She is especially
skilled in Latin and Ethnic dances. Ma Rui is a highly rated principle
performer in many successful Chinese dance dramas. They include: the Water,
The Red Overcoat, The Silver Bell, and The Sun. She is also the first prize
winner of the Latin Dancing at the Chinese Ten City Talent competition. Ma
Rui is an instructor and the president of Pacific Dance Academy.
